As someone who flaunts the alias “Cultured Simplicity”, it’s quite important that I’m able to provide answers when questioned about culture. Such as…
How do you define culture? (You’d be surprised by how much this answer differs from person to person and… well culture to culture!)
Or what is culture in simple words? (A word for the ‘way of life’ of groups of people, meaning the way they do things. Next question.)
Personally, I find that referencing the words of people from cultures all over the world is the best way to truly grasp the essence of culture.
The funny thing is that “culture quotes” are constantly categorized by their secondary underlying messages. There are quotes about culture and identity, quotes about culture and heritage, proud of my culture quotes, quotes about culture and education, etc.
Then there are also quotes about culture shock, quotes about cultural relativism, quotes about ethnocentrism, quotes about assimilation, and well a lot more.
For the sake of this article, all the culture quotes listed below are exactly that; culture quotes. Quotes about culture that’ll provide a deeper level of insight as to the definition of “culture.”
Quotes that’ll address both the connotation and denotation of the word. Culture quotes that’ll reshape your understanding of what culture is and *hopefully* allow you to more greatly appreciate all cultures.
